I think there are 2 items that need addressed in the off season before we do anything. When we start league check in for 2025 before trading & payment is taken, I think we need to resolve these items.
1.How much the entry fee is and how winnings are distributed.
2. length of the season if we eliminate all or some of the final week.
Here are some suggestions for entry fee:
We charge $30 per team, so 18 x $30 gives us $540.
Fantrax charges $129.95 ($130 essentially) per season for admin fees. This leaves us $410 for prizes.
Breakdown of $410 prize money
Overall best record: $30
6th: $15
5th: $25
4th: $30
3rd: $50
2nd: $100
1st: $160
Think that is fair and finishing 6th gets half your entry fee back. You would have to play a 5th place game the second week of playoffs and a 3rd place game the final week of playoffs.
Or you could reward the Division winners and not pay out 5th & 6th.
Overall best record: $30
Other 2 Division winners $20 each
4th: $30
3rd: $50
2nd: $100
1st: $160
Here are some suggestions for season length:
Season started on Thursday March 28th ending Sept 29th. (27 weeks)
We play our division 10 weeks (2 times each) and 12 non-division weeks. 22 regular season weeks. 3 playoff weeks come to 25 total weeks.
With the All-Star break starting back on a Friday, make that a 10 day week for a total of 26 weeks used and the final week is not used.
Another option would be start each week on Thursdays. So each weeks match ups would go Thursday-Wednesday. Then each week has an equal amount of games per week. The all star week would make that matchup last 2 weeks with 10 days of games. Then the season would be over Wednesday of the last week of the season. So our season would officially end on Wednesday of the last full week of the year.
Either way would eliminate any weird stuff from happening the final weekend. Or we could just stay as is.
Just some of my thoughts before 2025. Thanks to the league office for all you do. Hope everyone has a great offseason.
