Bids this past week did not go that smooth and I am sure a lot of you noticed that they took the better part of 5 hrs to complete. There were 147 bids so it was going to take a while but not that long. Once you get into a rhythm things start to go smooth as you pop one bid out after the other. I never got into a rhythm...
How I do bids is I open 2 tabs on my laptop. One tab open to FA Winning Bids and the other the Inbox of The Show account. I hit create thread on one tab and then go to the inbox of Showbidz and type in a players name to the search bar at top. It then only shows all the bids on that specific player and also brings up priority lists with that players name in them. I then open each message and copy and paste the bid into the other tab where I am creating the thread, go back and open a new bid and it marks the previous as read so that I know I have got that one. When I have copied and pasted all the bids I then go through and highlight the team name and the highest AAS and hit create thread and boom, one done and move on and repeat...
Sounds simple right,,, well, it could be... and most of the league makes it that way, but it only takes one to throw a wrench into the works. The problems start when team grossly mis-spell their own team name or players names So that they do not come up in search. Priority lists have literally 30 last names on them and no mention of how many... I know mistakes happen but I have to double check my work as you guys would have my ass if I dropped the ball on something or get lazy with keeping track of things. So is it too much that when I send out league messages asking for bids to be done right that you do that out of simple respect for the guy handling everyone's bids and not just yours? It must be,,, or it could be that teams think I just ask them to do things because I am just some LM on a power trip trying to get you to do things his way and you want to fight the power... This is not something new that has been sprung on you and I do not feel that great about talking to you guys like children, but I can not really drop names so I have to address all...
I have been pretty lax with bids as long as I see 3 main things. For the most part I know what you mean, but some get too lazy... so I am going to start voiding bids that are not set up properly... I can not tell certain people again and again who will not listen so I have to ramble this nonsense out at all of you... I want you to know the league for the most part rocks. This is a simple fix if you just take the time to send in a proper and decent looking bid...
Whether you believe it or not is of no importance, but why I do that is because some bids are so lazy that if a person called you out because they would have won. They say the rules say you have to bid like this or the bid does not count. Guess what, they would be right and you would lose the player and be pissed.
There is no reason a grown man can not send in a decent looking bid, but just in case I will tell you how we need them in the next post. You may think this is just the LM ranting again, your right, what was done this past week made the bids a hot mess and was more work than it was worth and I about stopped that night, but I new teams were waiting for them and excited including myself. So if your goal was to ruin it, it worked, you got to me, it sucked... If it was not intentional then get on your game,,, I am just trying to run a good and fun league and one person fucking it up is not going to help... So to keep myself from getting frustrated and ruining it for everyone, I am just going to void your bid... I am sorry for rambling,,,, your mistakes are easy to fix when there is only 20 bids, but not 150, will there be that many every week, no, but why should that matter.
