Main Points below - For full RFA bidding rules go to section "F" in the rules - theshow420.proboards.com/thread/2443/complete-2017-rules-show
Bidding Opens - Monday at 8am EST
Bidding Closes - Thursday at 3pm EST
1.Any player signed to an RFA contract is NOT eligible for the retirement rule. So if you back load in the hopes a player will retire, he may retire, but you will still pay him.
2.New this year, the max contract you can offer is 5 years
3.For contracts the lowest any single year salary can be is 30% of the AAS. The highest any single year can be is 30% of the AAS. - (E2 in the rules)
4.You may bid on your own player, however if you do not and no one else does player becomes an UFA.
Bidding Criteria
AAS = up to $3M, then MINIMUM 1 yr deal
AAS = $3M+ to $6M, then MINIMUM 2 yr deal (total min contract = $6,000,001 to $12M)
AAS = $6.1M+ to $9M, then MINIMUM 3 yr deal (total min contract = $18,000,001 to $27M)
AAS = $9.1M+ to $12M, then MINIMUM 4 yr deal (total min contract = $36,000,001 to $48M)
AAS = $12.1M and up, then MINIMUM 5 yr deal (etc)
Simply, you can divide the AAS by 3M, then round UP to determine the MINIMUM number of years the contract must cover. Any bid not meeting the correct minimum term offered will be voided. The bidder can always make a contract term LONGER than the minimum number of years since the AAS only determines the MINIMUM term.
Bidding on RFA - Section "E1" in the rules
Format your bid like this
(Line 1)----The Cubs offer
(Line 2)----Ron Santo 3B (Cubs)
(Line 3)----3yrs $10m AAS $3.3m
(Line 4)----19 - $3m
(Line 5)----20 - $3m
(Line 6)----21 - $4m
If the contract is spread evenly then just put spread evenly in line 4
There are a ton of bids in RFA and it takes some time to sort thru them. If everyone makes little errors that seem small to you, trust me, they add up on this end. So please make your bids look like the one above. If you are going to copy and paste your bid then use the BBCode tab so there are not 50 lines of space between each line of your bid. If you do not know what the BBCode is then ask me, but it is the bottom right tab when creating a post. It takes out the spaces and makes it easier for me when I am copying and pasting everyone's bid. You may not see those spaces when you send it as it may look right, but they show up on this end.
Double check your spelling of the players name in the subject line when creating a post otherwise I will not see it when I search and it creates a cluster fuck on this end. The two seconds it takes you to double check saves me a shit ton of time and get the results out sooner to you.
Simply put, if you want your bid to count then send it in properly
If you have any questions, now is the time to ask.
